We are surveying the birds of Los Fresnos using a variety of survey techniques, such as points counts and flush transects (to find sparrows).

To date, we have identified over 130 species of birds on the preserve, most of which rely on the area as breeding or wintering grounds. View a preliminary species list. Highlights include high breeding densities of Cassin's and Botteri's Sparrows, Montezuma and Scaled Quail, and Gray Hawk, among many others!
